PINTAS MARES
The breeding of Appaloosas at the PINTAS Ranch can be easily summarized in one sentence: Attractive horses, which are easy to ride. Sounds simple, but a careful selection of horses for breeding ensures the excellent characteristic traits.
Horse Breeding is a Very Special Science.
Among horse lovers, there is a humorous saying: A mare contributes 60% of their genes to the foal. Biologically speaking, that is not exactly the case. Nevertheless, the horse breeders of Toblach assign great value to well-bred mares. For lovers of Appaloosas, this means that the tapping of extraordinary blood lines allows for the breeding of horses with a good physical conformation and an impeccable character. Moreover, these foals grow up in a mountainous region – as befits the descendents of true Western Horses. Western riders and friends of the Appaloosas appreciate the PINTAS breed.
Already the first mare that entered the PINTAS Ranch was internationally renowned: Overwhelmed, a daughter of the centennial stallion and world champion The Overwhelmer. 9 foals with distinguished traits have to date originated from the breeding of the Appaloosa mare Overwhelmed.
In 2002, the Toblach people acquired another, extremely promising mare. She Is A Fancy Kelo won the German and European Championships multiple times and hold the High Point Winner position in Germany for 4 consecutive years.
All mares at the PINTAS Appaloosa Ranch used for breeding stem from selected, prevailing blood lines. As for the future, this ensures an exceptionally worthwhile breed.
